We don’t yet know the full details of how the COVID-19 crisis will unfold, but the contours are becoming clear — volunteers will be needed, locally, in every single community in the nation.
Beyond neighbors needing errands run, there are many critical volunteer shortages already emerging — blood banks, food pantries, healthcare, schooling. Nonprofits, churches, and other community organizations are on the frontlines, working tirelessly to meet these critical needs in every single community across the country. They are at the epicenter of this crisis, and they are who we need to organize to support.
But we don’t have a way to gear up for this at scale.
VOMO already has the tools to do so. Thousands of nonprofits, churches, schools and other organizations already use the VOMO platform to mobilize volunteers. They already have a bank of volunteers at the ready who can step up. VOMO has now made its volunteer management platform free and accessible to any organization mobilizing volunteers anywhere in the world and any person who wants to serve during the COVID-19 crisis.
Those who can serve can volunteer here and see existing opportunities or sign up to be at the ready to help. Organizations can use the platform to connect with these new volunteers as well as existing ones. We’ve dropped everything to make this platform open and to bring neighbors together in this time of need.
We can do this if we do it together.
